Space Bugs Extorting Space Squirrels For Money?
I've been on my computer a ton these past two weeks. So much so that I might actually be getting sick of it. WHAT NO WAY Nah, just joking guys. I've been spending a lot of time playing Team Fortress 2, Zombie Panic: Source, and Empires Mod. Very fun games. But last night I installed Galactic Civilizations II. It truly has been quite some time since I found a game that passes time so effortlessly as Galactic Civilizations II. Terribly fun game. Basically, you're given control of a civilization.. in a galaxy.
I lost the first two games I played. The first lasted a decent amount of time, but I suck so my defeat was inevitable. For the second one I purposefully filled the galaxy with seemingly peaceful AI, but they ALL declared war on me within short time. I guess I just look like a pushover or something... I was taken care of pretty quickly.
Currently I'm playing as a mutant squirrel race allied with these bug creatures (finally got them to stop extorting me for money!) and am on good relations with another race in the galaxy. The galaxy is also slightly larger this time, to give everyone a little breathing room. The only problem is that the Terran Empire has decided it would be cool to declare war on me. It seems as if the Terrans currently lack the capability of invading a planet, however, as all they'll ever do is destroy my ships as soon as I make them, hover about my planets for a bit, and then leave. This made it tough to reclaim some of my planets from a rogue group of pirates that suddenly appeared, but I finally got them back. You see, I do have the capability of invading a planet. I just need a way to get my troop transports over to those fucking Terran controlled planets. It is a rare day indeed when their fleets don't destroy me with their ridiculously strong missiles. Obviously that means I need to put everything into researching missile defense, but this takes time and I am impatient. I doubt either of the other races already have anything as advanced as I do along that particular branch of the tech tree, though...
What's really cool is that thanks to a few economic and research treaties, I am bringing in tons of money. It's to the point where I can stop taxing my people completely (which makes them happy :D) and still bring in more money after expenses than I did in either of the two previous games while taxing their cocks off. I am rich! Though if the situation ever arises, I could tax their cocks off, halt all spending, and drown myself in money.
Hm.. I should also research better hulls for my ships.. More HP with more mount points for weapons and shields. But it's nigh impossible to amass even a single fleet with Terran Frigates hovering around Sato I and Sato II. At least Hoth I (random name by the game!) and Atrilla I (a former Terran planet!) are out of the way. Ish. Atrilla I is actually within my bug ally's influence, but I can't get them to help me out with these pesky humans. :(
