Fire Good, yes?

Posted on May 15, 2006

So, I'm thinking that at my graduation party (the one my mom's doing, anyway) that I should totally have a huge bonfire.  The guys a few houses down the road always have massive fires, so it should be good, yes?  I'm not sure when exactly the party will be, but I've already made sure my mom knows that we're going to have a bonfire.  She's all for it, so it's cool.  Who would like to come burn things with me?

By the way, the pool WILL be open.  And don't think you can get out of swimming by not bringing a bathing suit.  You're going swimming.

So I absolutely love school right now.  No one's really doing anything.  We're ALL excited to leave.  I, personally, can't wait until I leave for Illinois.  It will be much fun.  Our goal in German, everyday, is to see how long we can get Frau talking about anything other than the packet we've been on for a week or two now.  English ended with the AP Test on the fourth of May.  We watched a movie adaptation of Much Ado about Nothing and are currently watching The Taming of the Shrew, both Shakespeare comedies.  I think we're going to read A Midsummer Night's Dream as well.  She said that we'd only read it in class, and that there'd be no homework.  Oh, and that the final exam would ONLY be on A Midsummer Night's Dream.  Problem is, I'm not sure we'll have enough time left to read it.  It better be short, it sounds pretty cool.  We've read too many Shakespearian tragedies these past four years, it's time to get some of those comedies in.  I really liked the adaptation of Much Ado about Nothing.  Kenneth Branagh is an amazing actor.  And Keanu Reeves as Denzel Washington's evil brother is just pure gold.  Branagh was also in one of the three Hamlet adaptations we watched.

Law is.. the Law.  Landers will sometimes take days and just lecture us on the weirdest things.  For example, it's "pants," never "pant."  And prahsess not pro-sess.  There was another mispronounciation that he lectured us on, but I forget what it was.  It was funny though.  A day at school is especially amazing if we can get Frau off-track for nearly the entire hour (as we managed to do today) AND if we're fortunate enough to have Landers lecture us (which, sadly, did not happen today).

That's about all for now...  Can't think of anything else at the moment...  I guess I'm feeling a bit better..  You could say I've kept myself occupied.  Whether that's good or bad.. I'm not sure.  As I said earlier, I can't wait to leave.  Start anew.  It'll be an adventure.
