It was light out when I started playing. Went dark. And then it was light again. What am I doing with myself?

…Bioware makes some of the most immersive RPGs. I am just sad that Mass Effect doesn’t have the same D&D feel that KOTOR did. Sure, the elements are still there behind the scenes, but I’d rather have direct control over where my stat points go each level. If I want to up Charisma to help my Intimidate and Charm skills, I should be able to. I was allowed to do this in KOTOR. Some of you may remember my post from last summer where I stated that I lied straight-face to the Jedi Counsel and they believed me. I want to feel like I have the same type of control in Mass Effect. The stuttering and load times, elevators all over the place, and texture pop-in kinda also knock the game. Other than that, though, this game is amazing.

I have an interview for a part-time position as a software tester tomorrow at 9AM. Kickass. It’ll be somewhere between twenty and thirty hours a week at ten dollars an hour. Awesome.

Casey interviewed for the position earlier today and says the interview is more of a test and that supposedly we are the only two that have applied so far. Pretty cool.

I am excited. The dude understands that we’re students and will be flexible with our hours as such. I hope the interview goes well and that I get the job.

Dear Anthony,

Our system has noticed what seems to be a large amount of “backup/non-web”
content on your account (#90604), mostly on user “swads”
on the web server “baht”.

Some of that content specifically is in /home/swads/Casexy
(although there may be more in other locations as well.)

Unfortunately, our terms of service (http://www.dreamhost.com/tos.html) state:

The customer agrees to make use of DreamHost Web Hosting servers
primarily for the purpose of hosting a website, and associated email
functions. Data uploaded must be primarily for this purpose; DreamHost
Web Hosting servers are not intended as a data backup or archiving
service. DreamHost Web Hosting reserves the right to negotiate
additional charges with the Customer and/or the discontinuation
of the backups/archives at their discretion.

At this point, we must ask you to do one of three things:

* You can delete all backup/non-web files on your account.

* You can close your account from our panel at:
https://panel.dreamhost.com/?tree=billing.accounts
(We are willing to refund to you any pre-paid amount you have
remaining, even if you’re past the 97 days. Just reply to this
email after closing your account from the panel.

OR!

* You may now enable your account for backup/non-web use!

If you’d like to enable your account to be used for non-web files, please
visit the link below. You will be given the option to be charged $0.20 a
month per GB of usage (the monthly average, with daily readings) across
your whole account.

We don’t think there exists another online storage service that has
anything near the same features, flexibility, and redundancy for less
than this, so we sincerely hope you take us up on this offer!

In the future, we plan to allow the creation of a single “storage” user
on your account which will have no web sites (or email). For now though,
if you choose to enable your account for backups, nothing will change
(apart from the charges).

If you want to enable backup/non-web use on this account, please go here:

https://panel.dreamhost.com/backups.cgi?g=670396620915223

If you choose not to enable this, you must delete all your non-web files
by 2008-05-24 or your account will be suspended.

If you have any questions about this or anything at all, please don’t
hesitate to contact us by replying to this email.

Thank you very much for your understanding,
The Happy DreamHost Backup/Non-Web Use Team

Note: While personal backups will be allowed, the use of our services
for the distribution, acquisition, or storage of illegal or illegally
obtained copyrighted material still won’t be. Please make sure that
all material hosted under your account is legal and was obtained legally!

It’s about 100GB total being taken up… Screw that.

Ugh

Post-exam sickness is like res-sickness. Where instead of 75% or so less HP and MP for whatever minutes, I have 0% drive to do anything of import (which is different than the pre-exam period, how?). I am avoiding my email, I am avoiding my grades, I am even avoiding this here journal. I sleep the worst hours: Thursday night I woke up at 10PM. I went to bed at about 2 or 3AM Saturday morning. I woke up 10PM Saturday night. Napped from 4:30PM to 6:30PM. I am going to sleep soon, maybe. It is 4AM. I have two slices of Giordanno’s spinach pizza in my fridge. I am tempted to heat one of them up. At 4AM. I can blast my music as loud as I want because there are only three other people on the floor, none are anywhere near my room. I am. It is 4AM. I am freezing. I can’t explain it. I need to work out. This avoiding of email and grades and such is actually more of a fear of what could be awaiting me. What could possibly be in my email? There is currently a conversation in the e2 catbox involving TheDeadGuy and his apparent two degrees of separate from Shakira, Daphne Zuniga, Jim Henson, Che, and Prince. Neat. That is much more interesting than this tired feeling I’m getting. I’d even rather start doing a ton (hah) of sets of push-ups than go to sleep. Maybe I will. Maybe it’ll get me tired enough.
