Now that I think about it, I don’t think the DVD-Rom or the Harddrive are small enough to fit in there. The HDD isn’t 2.5″, I don’t think, and the DVD-Rom certaintly isn’t… Hm… Infact, scrap those… I’ll find something that’ll work.

I’m assuming that when the mobo specs page says Onboard IDE - ATA/100/66, that the harddrive above that has an IDE ULTRA ATA100 interface will work just fine. Correct me if I’m wrong though. Now I just gotta find a dvd-rom/cd-rw combo that’ll fit… I’m thinking that I might have to buy a laptop drive and get an adpater if required, though I doubt that many laptop drives are 2.5″… Seeing as how the slim drive I linked to earlier had a comment on it about putting it in a laptop… And I’m not gonna go external because… ew… Besides, it’d be a waste of space too. Hm… my quest continues…

After doing some research, I’ve come across this: You will need a 2.5″ laptop style hard drive and perhaps a slimline optical drive (adapters are included for both)., for my desired case. This can be found on this page under the Morex Cubid 3688 Mini-ITX Case - Black heading. I’m assuming (there I go with assumptions again!!) that the case will be sold with the same parts and such in the DSL store as it will in the mini-itx store. My research also turned up the following information: A regular slim drive will work. Awesome. The images (those of the case and of the separate slim drive on newegg) were kinda misleading though. Now all I need is RAM, and I should just be able to grab some on newegg, just a standard stick of 168-pin PC100/133 SDRAM.

Whee! Updates galore!! Alright, I’ve got everything. I’m thinking about going down to a single 256mb stick of RAM to bring down the cost… I really don’t need 512mb for a file and game server system… Hm… I’ll have to think about this one…

Opted for slightly more powerful motherboard/cpu combo. Got different RAM, as the new motherboard doesn’t support the RAM that the other motherboard needed. Also went with 256mb instead of 512mb. Still debating whether I want 512 or 256 though.
