So I finally ran out of soap and shampoo yesterday morning and made a trip to Target that night so that I would not create a repulsion field with my stench. I decided to buy a shampoo+conditioner combination thinger because Nicole has been bugging me to use conditioner for a while. Even though she hasn't really bothered me about it in the last few weeks, I decided to give it a shot. I don't notice a difference other than the fact that my hair feels like it has conditioner in it after I rinse my hair.

I also bought... hairties. It's getting long enough in the back that it's nearing ponytail time (I am not fond of the idea of having a flowing mane). My sides aren't long enough to get caught in the ponytail (though they're pretty long, thanks to me not getting a haircut in eleven months), and my bangs are definitely no where near it. I don't think it looks too terrible. Actually, I don't mind how it looks, either with or without the ponytail. I'll probably start ponytailing in a few weeks.

The hairties came in packs of like eight or so for $1.29. There were a ton of packs that had assorted bright colors that I actually gave consideration to before I found the all black pack and bolted out of the hair care aisle.

Pics or it didn't happen. The photos are for Alyssa because she was all "YOUR HAIR LOOKS BAD AND YOU SHOULD FEEL BAD" without even seeing it.

Brian has to be out of his room at Tech by noon on Saturday. Mom is going up there with David to move him out and then they're coming down to Chicago Saturday during the day/night to hang out and get dinner. Awesome!

Looptastic runs from 5PM to 7AM Friday night in the Loop. The website says it's about celebrating the artistic and cultural communities of Chicago. It looks interesting, I'll check it out for a few hours, but definintely not all night. Gotta do COM paper, after all.

THE SCORE IS CURRENTLY RED WINGS SIX AVALANCHE ONE. IT IS THE SECOND PERIOD. HAHAHAHA.

A fan did not throw an octopi on the ice, he threw an octupus. Stupid announcer.

It just turned Wednesday, which means that...

JASON'S COMING TO VISIT TOMORROW!!

I can't wait!

Oh man! It's been a month!

Hahaha!! It's gonna be great!

You have no idea how much I miss him!

I just hope he doesn't get bored here.

More people need to visit me! Heather, Tim, hell, you too Paul! That is, if you can get away from that Lauren chick for a weekend or so :-P

I'll be visiting you guys soon enough.

Don't worry.

We'll need to do stuff. Like everyone, or almost everyone.

I'm sure some of you will be happy to see me.

Something big, something awesome. Something to remember...

We need to have fun... and we only have four days to do it in...

Mom sent me an e-mail, part of which briefly described Brian making life difficult for various people in the house. I teared up while reading that... Even if I wanted to bash his head in at times, I miss him... We got along really well, actually. Then again, you kind of have to if you've been living together for all but one month of you entire lifetime. Well, two months now. Now that I've been at school for a month.

Hmm... I need to buy a few CTA Visitor passes for Jason and anyone else who might visit later on.

I read this thing and I laughed out loud. It's so true. I need to print it up and share it with Phil from down the hall. Post it on my door.

Michiganders unite!

Michiganian?

I remember, a few years back, Mom had a radio station playing on the way to school one day. The hosts were having people call in to say which they prefered: Michigander, or Michiganian.

Michigander seems "right", but I just like the way Michiganian rolls off the tongue.

Though the question must be brought up:
What do you call yourself if you're from Illinois?

And with that, I eagarly await the one cool person from home who's going to visit me!

Haha!

so excited

While these poems may seem quite.. morbid... I think they do apply to Grandma's.. state... I dunno..

There's a very special garden
Where the trees of memory grow
Nurtured by the kindness
And concern that good friends show.
The roots are cherished memories
Of good times in the past
The branches tender promises
That souls endure and last.
It's a place of peace and beauty
Where bright new hopes can start
It's memory's lovely garden
That soothes the hurting heart.

-unknown

One gift, above all others
God gives to us to treasure
One that knows no time, no place
And one gold cannot measure

The precious, poignant tender gift
Of Memory......that will keep
On dear ones ever in our hearts
Although God gives them sleep

It brings back long remembered things
A song, a word, a smile
And the world's a better place ... because
We had them for awhile!

-unknown

It's just so hard to think of something when.. I really don't know her all too well.. Personally, I like the top one, a lot...

Hey Dad. I just want to say thanks. You've taught us many things throughout our lives, and I know I really appreciate it. Because of you, we've grown up to be kind, accepting people that don't cause problems nor go looking for any. You often compare us to other kids, saying that you're glad that you have us instead of the loud, obnoxious ones; the unruly ones. But also, you love to have fun and are not an uptight person that insists everything has to be perfect and that everyone must behave. There's a time for everything, whether it's being proper and standing up straight in nice clothes, or if it's screaming wildly like a scared girl while being pulled up the first hill on a roller coaster. You've taught us that there are times we can have fun and there are times that we must be a little more respectable. You have taught us so much that I cannot put into words. I've always felt that you were such an easy person to talk to, and I really appreciate that. You care about us and try to be there for us. Thanks Dad. It's your fault we're like this. Be proud of yourself.

I would have bought you something, but we've decided to save most (if not all) of my earnings for college, and that should be a good enough present in and of itself, right? Besides, it's not like I can really buy you that Athlon 64 4000+, eh?

But you'll probably buy that for yourself, along with the rest of the computer, right? That is if you really mean it this time.

Let's take a look back in time, shall we? I don't know the exact years these various "events" took place, but hopefully the processor speeds should give most of you a rough idea.

Me: "Our machine [the one Brian and I shared, 750mhz] is faster than your's!!"
Dad: "Yea, yea. Just wait, I'll get a 1ghz when it comes out and it will scream."
...
Dad: "I'm waiting for the 2ghz."
...
*our machine is upgraded to 2ghz*
...
Dad: "The 64-bitter is going to be awesome."
...
*upgrades David's machine to 1.6ghz*
...
Dad: "Yep, that 64-bit will be nice."
...
*AndrAIa is built, clocks in at ~3.2ghz*
...
Dad: "I'm waiting for the 4200+ to push the 4000+ down in price." (most recent, just earlier this month if I recall correctly)

A new machine would do you good. But an Athlon 64 4000+?? I'm sure you'll have a very nice graphics card too. It's a shame you don't play any games

Alright everyone, say it with me:

Happy Birthday Tony's Dad!
