Alles gut zum Geburtstag!

Posted on October 26, 2004

Today is David's 11th birthday, happy birthday David!  On Saturday he got Pikmin 2 from Dad, the original Pikmin was an awesome game and Pikmin 2 does not disappoint, especially the two-player aspect.  He also got Star Wars: Battlefront for the PS2 (he returned a second copy of Pikmin 2 that he had recieved), which is an AWESOME game.  Much like Battlefield, but set in the Star Wars universe.  You can play as one of four groups (depending on the map) on many many maps.  You can choose one of five classes, each class has two main weapons, guns, and two secondary weapons, mines and such; some classes also have special abilities: The Jet dudes on the Imperials have a jetpack and I think there's an Imperial class that can jump really high with a jetpack-like ability.  And then there are these guys for the droids.  Need I say more in regard to special abilities?  Once in the game, you actually feel as if you're in the battle, whether it be in the crowded streets of Mos Eisley, the cold of Hoth, or the forests of Endor.  It's an amazing site watching Storm Troopers dart through the foliage on Endor while trying to snipe them from the raised house thingies (they're houses built on platforms, usually connected to trees I believe, for the Ewoks).  It's an awesome game.  When playing two-player, however, I've noticed it was quite easy.  Maybe this has something to do with David being first player and having his difficulty set on "easy," but this doesn't become an issue when playing online.  The people online are much better than the bots offline, even if there still are more bots than humans in an online game.

Overall, if you're looking for a fun, Battlefield-esque experience for the PlayStation 2, look no further than Star Wars: Battlefront, even if you can't play online with your PlayStation 2.  If you're looking for a good online (or even split-screen) experience, definatly get this game, it's a blast.

PS2 HDLoader

Very interesting!  I just might have to buy this once it comes out, then I'd be able to play the games I'm borrowing from Nate even after I return them, or borrow a game from Jason just to rip it, etc.  It'll also help greatly with loading times, which is one of my main concerns.  I don't really intend on pirating games, just being able to play my (legit) games with faster load times.  Hm...  I'm not sure how much space I have left on my PS2 HDD, but it's probably more than enough for several games =P

Well today was cool. I

Posted on June 8, 2002

Well today was cool.  I went to my friend's house around 10 A.M. and had my mom pick me up around 7 P.M.  He recently got a PS2 for his birthday so we played that a lot.  I watched him play Final Fantasy X, and we both took turns playing Grand Theft Auto 3.  He's currently writing a program in Visual Basic that'll encrypt and decrypt messages using an ecrytion method that he came up with.  I got further in Resident Evil for the Gamecube while at his house, using his mom's strategy guide.  Well when my mom picked me up we all (all = my mom, my 2 bros, and i) went to White Castle... i felt like i was gonna barf!  White Castle does not have the greatest food.

It's amazing...  My day was filled with video games and programming and yet my mind wandered back to Kristy every now and then...  I know, it's sad...  but... i...i... i'm still in love with her...  I don't even know her that well!

O well...
