There’s a fair amount of hooplah in the comments about damage control and potential announcements from world governments. I love conspiracy theorists.

So I found this while I was sick and it definitely helped my mood quite a bit. It’s just too damn awesome.

I laughed out loud just now. Three times. Questionable Content. pictures for sad children. xkcd (especially the title/alternate text of the image!). These are direct links to the specific comics in question.

I think the QC one got me the most with “And then another scientist lady comes in and goes ‘ooh, can I watch? Spooky action at a distance gets me really hot.’”

..Yeah. Nerd humor. What can I say?

In other news, I feel REALLY comfortable tomorrow’s CS350 exam. Mostly because it’s an open book/open note exam and I copied down everything I was unsure (and sure) of from the three problem sets we’ve had so far. Can we say rape? I can. The precalc exam, on the otherhand, I’m not so sure about. I’ve gone over the quizzes and their solutions and I can work through it for the most part… I will definitely look over it all before the exam tomorrow. Unlike my PoliSci exam earlier today… I set my alarm for 12:30 so I could get a decent amount of sleep and still look over the material (i.e. read ~70 pages that I haven’t even touched) before the exam. I got up at 2:50. Class was at 3:15. I don’t feel so good about that one.. :(

I played only some Smash Brothers and Phantasy Star Online (offline, sadly :() today! No Team Fortress 2 or Half-Life 2 or Garry’s Mod (sooo much fun; like the construction mod for Tribes 2 but with physics) or anything on the computer. This is good for exams and studying. This is not good for sanity and relaxation.

Season 4 of The Office premieres this Thursday. I am thinking of skipping ITM (the class is a joke, seriously) and watching it in Jeremy’s room with everyone. Stargate: Atlantis Season 4 begins on Friday. Sci-Friday is at the same time… Sci-Friday this week consists of the last three episodes of Doctor Who Season 3, however. There is very little conflict here as I first saw these episodes months ago. There is the whole hanging out with people and discussing them, however, that I will be missing out on for a short period of time.

Next week I plan to get Din hooked up to the TV and recording and stuff (I really wish she were quieter.. or that in buying my new box I could keep AndrAIa…). I just need to find a way to pull channel listings from… something. Anything. There is a service out there that costs a couple bucks a month or somewhere in the teens per year (not sure, read about it on slashdot some time ago) that I might be willing to pay for. Especially now that I’ve got some money coming in. I should really set up direct deposit with the registration office… I should also really write that essay and send my application to Global Grounds. Corey and I went there earlier tonight and the “Now Hiring” signs are still up. Hmm. Next week, when I can be distracted.

Apparently Mayor Rudy Guliani’s seventeen year old daughter listed on her Facebook (of all places) that she is a Barack Obama fan.

I love how the presidential race has already begun despite there being over a year left until the elections even begin. -_-

Read this. Now. It is only a thousand strips… Took me a few hours and a four AM run to 7-11 for Taquitos (though the dude was cleaning the grill and so I had to settle on a bag of Cool Ranch Doritos and a bottle of Vault instead) to finish. I was linked from… somewhere. I honestly have no clue. And it was only a few hours ago. But I have just witnessed the beginning and ending of a universe. I am allowed to forget things that happened only a few hours ago. The comic gets a bit heavy at times… religion and morals and all that… but that is the appeal, sort of. I am not a religious person by any stretch, but discussions such as those in the comic intrigue me. It is also humorous. And there is romance if you really need romance in your web comics. It has something for everybody!

Seriously, though, I recommend people read this comic. It is very well done. At one point I thought I was reading fundie Christian propaganda (you will know when, it gets a little tedious if you are not into that sort of thing), but.. whatever the author’s beliefs, I did not at anytime feel that they were being forced upon me. The situations in the comic can actually be seen from and.. applied to? both sides of the religious debate. I am not kidding when I say I witnessed the beginning and end of an entire universe. There is a defined beginning. Let there be light There is a defined end. Let there be darkness

The guy that did this did it well. There is so much I want to say about it that is hard to put in words that are not “Go read this now, you will not be disappointed.”

So… Go read this now, you will not be disappointed.

Oh, the comic is called One Over Zero

Enjoy.

I did.

I think I need to use that E2 pipe link plugin I wrote more often. Just as a way to embed things into my posts, ya know? Thoughts and second meanings and what have you. It really is quite neat. I also need to learn more PHP. I mean.. the plugin was just an exercise in regular expressions. (I also really need to learn Perl) I should really learn how to interact with the MySQL server via PHP. Mind you, this would be the MySQL server that runs on sugardeath.net, not Din… though when I get Din’s working it would be kinda nice to play with it via PHP… I could probably code a very simplistic Quake III score tracker… problem being: how would I extract the scores from the server console?

That will be my other summer project, as Din seems to be mostly up and running (save for MythTV, which relies on the MySQL server, which relies on… something not being a bitch and allowing mysqld to start).

I should probably go to bed… So I could, you know, get up at a decent time (noon would be decent enough…) and actually do things.
