Dieing at 6AM, Ever so Slowly

Posted on August 27, 2005

I figured I should post something while there's nothing really going on at the LAN Party..

At around 2:45, Ryan, Tim, myself, and Andrew all went for a walk.  We went to Jack Harvey elementary, which isn't too far from Andrew's house.  We sat there and talked for a good amount of time.  Ryan checked his phone at one point and it as 3:30.  There were no creepy cars sitting in the parking lot this time.  On the way back, we saw headlights coming down the street adjacent to Andrew's.  We ran like hell.  It was awesome.  Tim ran like no other.  Then... nothing more...

I finally got to meet Danielle, Andrew's not-yet-girlfriend girlfriend.  She seems nice.

Random crap:

Um...  The Sunday after we came back from Mackniac Island, I unlocked the Dark Knight advanced job in FFXI.  Later that week, I achieved rank 3 with the help of a few members from my linkshell.  The next Sunday (one week after I unlocked DRK), I unlocked the Beastmaster job.  BST is a sweet job.  Charming monsters and having them fight against other, tougher monsters (and thusly DIEING) is so much fun.  Especially the part where I send them to their death.  Did I metion that I like making my charmed monsters fight monsters several levels higher than them?

Not really much more after that...

School on Tuesday.  Yay?  Perhaps.  As I said, I don't really know whether I'm looking forward to it or not.  I'm hoping to see a few people again.  People I haven't seen all summer.  Keyword: hoping...

I was over Jason's a few weeks ago when both his mom and Heather started bugging me about Homecoming.  "Who are you gonna take?"  Um...  No one?  Because I'm most likely not gonna go?  "But you HAVE to go!  It's your senior year!"  So..?

:ugh:

I dunno.  Random crap.  You should expect this kind of stuff from me when I've been up for almost 24 hours straight.  I feel like heating up a few slices of pizza right now, so... I'm out..

Guess Who’s Back

Posted on August 8, 2005

Whoo.  Got back yesterday (Saturday) at about 9PM.  Riding that damn bike around the island everday (uphill especially), really works those calf muscles.

New photo gallery.

LAN Party on the 26th, w00t!

Um.  Yea.

I THOUGHT there was more I was gonna say, guess not though...

I've got another write-up for E2.  I'll cross-post it here.  I like it.  I hope you guys do too. It's not really my usual stuff, but it does... fit my sense of humor, I guess you could say.  I hope to get it up tomorrow.

Over and out.

LAN Party Goodness and Biking Adventures

Posted on July 1, 2005

Freaking A...  I accidently closed firefox while typing this entry...  I hadn't saved one little bit of it...  Damnit!

Anyway, I'll try my best to remember everything I wrote...

Saturday was the obligatory, celebratory end of the year LAN Party that we were supposed to have on the 11th, but various... things... delayed it to the 25th.  It was pretty fun, just as it should have been.  We started with Tribes 2 early on.  I was pwning them all.  At one point, I was in a little skirmish with Paul, Jason, and Andrew.  I came out victorious  That doesn't mean they suck, though.  Both Jason and Andrew were doing very well against me before Paul joined.  Andrew was capping my flag while Jason was raping my base.  Due to the base rapage and the loss of my power generators, my vehicle station was disabled, therefore preventing me from catching Andrew...  When Paul joined, it became even more unfair, for he joined their team -_- I had Tim and Heather on my team, but they're both n00bs (no offense guys...  but the Blaster does not a good weapon make).  It was still fun though, a challenge is always good.

We played some Jedi Academy a little later on.  I think EVERYONE was involved in this game, which made it freaking awesome.  It started out as a good ol' Saber Only Team Deathmatch, which was QUITE fun.  Part way through the game, however, Ryan decided that he wanted everyone to go on Blue, and he'd be the only one on Red.  Hilarity ensued.  Well, not right away.  He was actually doing very good.  Then Andrew joined his team.  They pwned.  But then, we figured out that with our army of Jedis, we could just force push/pull them off the bridge and send them to their much deserved fiery death.  This is when the hilarity ensued.  Problem was, they still won!  It was AWESOME.  It was nice to play a game other than Quake 3 for a bit (we don't play Tribes 2 all that often, so playing that is nice too).  That's not to say we didn't play Quake 3 though, we played a couple of SuperHeroes games and then some regular CTF.  Actually, playing Super was a nice change of pace compared to the old vanilla Quake 3.  We need to start playing some more mods.

Well, then it started to turn into a WoW fest, as everyone was getting ready to crash the (first?) WoW wedding in some Alliance town.  Both Horde and Alliance members were gonna attending the wedding.  Fury of War (Andrew's guild, Paul's too?) were gonna attack the Horde members at some point during the wedding.  Eventually Paul and Andrew said "screw it" because they had to log on at 5:30, despite the fact that the wedding was gonna take place at 7:30 (7?).  Actually, I think that's when the Jedi Academy awesomeness started.  I don't know for sure.

Uh...  Randomness for a few hours.

At around 2 or 2:30 AM, Tim and I went for a walk... outside  It was really nice out, despite having been so freaking hot in the morning/afternoon times (trust me, you do NOT want to carry two computers in THAT weather!).  We mostly walked around Andrew's block and talked Final Fantasy XI.  Well, Tim talked FFXI, I listened.  Everything he was talking about was stuff I hadn't encountered in my short stint with FFXI...  I think it was our third or fourth time passing Andrew's house when he ran at us from behind and scared the crap out of us.  Tim was so shaken up that he had to sit down on the side walk for a bit.  With Andrew by our side, we didn't feel like we'd get lost, so we just started walking anywhere and everywhere.  We even crossed the Edison Corridor and ended up at Havel Elementary.  We sat there on the poor excuse of a play structure and talked about random things.  Work mostly.  We were fine for about twenty minutes when this... car or truck (it was dark) pulled into the parking lot.  Thing is, it couldn't go anywhere, with the gates locked, the parking lot was a dead end.  Then it just idled in the parking lot, with it's headlights on (so that rules out horny teenagers).  Needless to say, we high-tailed it out out of there.  Then we came back, and all was well.

I think it's safe to say that this was the first LAN Party where I pulled an all-nighter!!

I swapped David's network card with Brians several weeks back.  It seems old-ass Netgear cards cause some problems for PSO (namely, the inability to connect to the patch server).  However, when we put this card in David's machine, some more... severe issues started popping up.  David's machine would only do a proper POST some of the time.  And when it did do a proper POST, it didn't always recognize the the CD-ROMs...  Very weird.  So on Tuesday, David and I rode our bikes up to Computer Builders Warehouse to get him a new network card.  It cost ~$9.99.  Then we stopped at GameStop (right next door) to look for PSO Episode 3 for the Gamecube.  It wasn't there, but we kept looking around anyway.  We eventually stumbled across The Command and Conquer Collection.  It contained Tiberian Sun, Tiberian Sun: Firestorm, Renegades, Red Alert 2, and Red Alert 2: Yuri's Revenge.  Everything was new except for the original Tiberian Sun.  This also means we got brand new CDs for Tiberian Sun (our original NOD disc was scratched to hell) AND a new serial key!  Score!  Yuri's Revenge is the expansion to Red Alert 2, however it never says Command and Conquer: Red Alert 2: Yuri's Revenge, it's just Command and Conquer: Yuri's Revenge.  Compare that to Command and Conquer: Tiberian Sun: Firestorm (the expansion to Tiberian Sun), and Command and Conquer: Red Alert: Aftermath (the expansion to the original Red Alert).  'Tis odd, but doesn't detract from anything.  So.. yea.  That was my little adventure for this... week... month... summer...

Anyway, I'm tired of typing and want to play PSO.

!!!  I WANT !!!

Edit: That should read Jack Harvey Elementary, NOT Havel Elementary.  Havel is on the other side of Andrew's sub.

Changed title, old title sucked ass.

LAN Party Description Coming Later

Posted on June 26, 2005

I'm still kind of tired and out of it, expect a write-up much later on.  It was fun though, I'll say that.
