I’d post some photos, but it’s taking forever to upload these files… I was the Millenium Park yesterday and took one-hundred and sixty-seven photos of the park. …
It keeps hanging after so many files, so I’m wondering if uploading them all in one archive will be better. One two-hundred eighty-eighty megabyte archive.
Here’s a photo for you guys. It’s kind of old, I know, but I thought you’d all appreciate it anyway.
Ok guys! Here’s an entry, WITH PHOTOS. Enjoy, and thanks for being patient!
OK, so lastnight I went to the Millenium Park in downtown Chicago. Basically, the place is amazing. None of these pictures do the place justice (A) because my camera takes grainy-ass pictures at night and B) you don’t get the same feeling through pictures.. you need all of your senses). From IIT, you can take the Green Line all the way to Chicago (the road) and then just cross a street or two and you’re there at the park. Practically as soon as you step in you lose all sense of being in a major city. You can still see the buildings, but they’re like a backgroud painted behind this beautiful piece of art.
(yes, those are clouds around the building)
You’re surrounded by plants and architecture and… you can’t hear the city anymore. Cars? What are those?
There’s this neat little ampitheter-type thing in the middle of the park with this massive lawn and these bars going overhead. It’s very cool.
I made my way to the back of the park first, then came around and hit the front of it. When you’re entering, on the left is this crazy sculpture often referred to as “the bean.”
I believe the sign said it’s some foreign sculptor’s first public American debut.
There’s some restaurant right there, and I do have photos of it, but I decided not to link them here because this is getting long enough and there’s still stuff to show.
When entering the park, to the right, are these two towers. Of water. And light. They’re amazing.
I only saw one of the towers at first, and as I kept walking around I noticed that they both had something special on the inside faces.. quite literally faces.
I seriously have a ton of photos of these two towers, and there’s no way I’m going to link them all, despite the fact that some of them are really, truly AMAZING looking (though it’s even better in person).
I Highly suggest you check out the entire album I uploaded here. Pages 16 and 17 contain the cool tower pictures.
More photos when I take them!
