Yo, server people!
What the hell? Where's our perl crap!? http://www.trashfolder.org/satoshi/mt/mt.cgi, says we're missing DB_File.pm, and maybe DMB.pm too. What the hell, it worked fine before. So, where are the backups!? We came to your host because our old one got hacked and we didn't feel secure anymore, and now we crash and you don't provide proper backups! Seriously, what kind of host doesn't keep regular backups? I want them now, we should have seen them a day after the crash, 2 at most. But it's been what, little over a week now!? I'm pissed, yes, pissed. Fix what happened, fix it now. Or maybe you want to lose customers? 'Cause you're doing a good job.
Assholes.
note to self
fix side bar on sub-pages, they have fixed code for archive, recent entry links, and the calender, replace with the MT code from index page
Only 4 people read this site?
I only got four comments, but they did help a little. I got some advice from Jason before school today, he said to make that there was too much contrast between the text and the background, but the background was fine. He suggested changing the text to a nice #e0e0e0, and it looks fine. I didn't change it to white, because the links are white, but it still looks great. I added a dotted underline to the links to distinguish (sp?) them from the body text (you can tell that their different colors without the underline, but it's easier this way.) I fixed the order of <div id="content"> and the <div class="blog"> tags, so their in the right places now, and this stylesheet will work with other templates based off of the main MovableType template (which I'd like to move away from for once, my current one is still slightly based off of it). Well, I started this post yesterday at the end of Web Page, saved it, and never got to finishing it at home, so I'm finishing this up now, before class starts. ::bell rings:: More like a tone though...
Phase 1 – Complete
I've applied the new template to all of the sub-pages, so now they look correct (before, where the content was, it was all black because of the order of the tags, I had switched them around in the new template to get the black bar in the topish area of the page). I still need to tweak the style-sheet so that the comments/trackback, individual entries pages, monthly entry pages, search page, and the archives page look correct.
Yes, this layout is still pretty much the same as the previous one, but I needed some sort of change. I did get rid of some useless stuff on the side bar, however. Like the syndicate this site, among other things. I also reordered the side bar, so now the links (the most important part of the side bar) are at the top. The search is now placed below the recent entries and archives, it just feels much better.
new template
Yes, it's about time, don't you agree? And, I'm even moving away from this monotone color scheme! Check it out!
It's a much needed and welcome change. I plan on getting it finished tonight or tomorrow, gotta finish up the side bar and make some stylesheet changes.
UPDATE (11:24PM): OK, I've got the new template inplace on the main page. I like this one better than the other one, it's.. different. It's not entirely done yet, though, so please be patient. I still need to get this onto the subpages, I need to fix the comment pages, need to fix the individual entry pages, the archives page, etc. etc. But I've got the main part up, so it'll be easy from here. If you have any issues or find any problems, please e-mail me or leave a comment.
UPDATE (11:32PM): Ack, the page isn't updating, so it isn't displaying the newest posts... damn...
UPDATE (11:35PM): OK, fixed it. Apparently the template had the messages in it, instead of having the MT code to display the messages..
