it’s a start
Just a little something I've had sitting in my themes folder for ages. I wanna get back into the whole HTML/CSS/PHP thing, just gotta find time for it. Designing themes for my site was enjoyable, and I like the start I have with this one, so I hope to be able to do something with it. Otherwise, it's just a nice, clean template.
Also, there's always the newtf layout I made for integration into NewTF's main page. I do like that I was so easily able to copy Jason's design. (I especially like that newtf.php can be used for ANYTHING on the site with no changes: E2 Plugin, Default layout and E2 Plugin, NewTF Style.
Should be fun, if I can get myself back into it.
Any LiveJournal/DeadJournal users wanna tell me how well the OpenID thing in the comments works? Thanks.
Links used to be a mid-gray color. Then a light blue. Now NewTF blue (#007). Needs some tweaking yet, just wanted links to be visible.
I’m a weak little bastard
Jason, Phil, and I went to the gym yesterday. I realized I'm weak and out of shape :cry: I'm not gonna post much about my rediculously low performance. Just that I suck and that a weekly work out day might be a great thing. Though Tuesdays are a very awkward day to do so. I get out of CS-100 at 4:30, and I have PHIL-362 at 6:25. Not even two hours to work out and eat dinner. I'm all for Thursday, though. PSYC-222 from 10-11:15AM. AND THAT'S IT.
So Jason arrives in Chicago at 9:54PM on the 21st of September. Can we say :grin:
That means I need to buy a CTA pass for him.
Apparently DreamHost has been having some major network issues lately, hence why NewTF is down. It's been pretty good on my end of things, mostly just some lag here or there while using SSH. I really do hope they get everything sorted out quickly. At least we know what's going on thanks to http://status.dreamhost.com. Technolojik never told us a thing.

No, I did not make this theme... but I decided that I had not the time to do such a thing, and that my previous theme wasn't all that great. This one is really nice, so I'll be sticking with it for a while.
Okay…. what the hell?
So, in an effort to placate Jason's incessant whining for an RSS feed, I tried to find out what was wrong with my wp-rss2.php file. I changed a line or two, to see what it would do.. and, well... my entire site broke. WordPress was outputting GARBAGE. Random ASCII characters. I thought maybe upgrading WordPress .0.4 versions would help.
It says my database is out of date. Ok, I'll run the upgrade.php. Same problem.
Shit.
So I go to sleep after playing some Armored Core 3 till too late in the morning... After Math class, I get back to my room and go online. Suddenly, I see the WordPress Dashboard again! Huh?! My page is still not rendering right, so I check the topic I made on the support forums. As suggested by chradil, I start disabling plugins one by one... MTDewVirus' Recent Comments plugin is the culprit, though now my theme doesn't work. So I switched to the theme you see here, and the WP-Cut plugin starts causng the problem...
Did my plugins get corrupted or something? What's going on?
Oh well, just thought I'd let y'all know what's been going.. I doubt any of you even saw the temp page I put up last night, it was like one in the morning here... so about two for most of you. :-P

You may have noticed this theme go live yesterday... I did some quick CSS hacking to get a nice layout (that I've sadly lost in the process of making this theme) sometime last week and used that as the base for this theme. I seriously did most of the work on this Sunday night after work and Monday morning before work. I'm surprised I was able to turn it out so quickly! I seriously remember taking much longer to finish up my AndrAIa theme. Hm. I'm happy with what I've turned out though. I may end up tweaking it a bit in the near future (you know how when you make something you always want it to be better and better?), so as to include such important things as an archives page and links page, and perhaps an about page, but It's pretty much in it's final form. Maybe I'll release this theme, I'm not sure. I dunno if it'd actually do well at all, but it'd be worth a try, yes? Maybe you'll end up on someone else's website somehow and BAM! you'll see this theme. That'd be awesome. But first I need to get this thing ready for release. Comment the PHP and CSS, clean it up, etc.
By the way, the picture in the header graphic is from the Science Olympiad States competition last year, of the river that ran through campus.
(Besides, this theme was a good excuse to use the awesome image headline plugin =P)
