I always found it interesting that I see umflint.edu all over the place on the web. One of my Arch repositories is at UofM Flint, the speed test server I connected to for my Data Networks paper is at UofM Flint (the other was an Internet2 owned server in Chicago), I always download Sourceforge things from UofM Flint if available. I wonder if Internet2 being a local thing has any affect on that?
If my phone allows custom ringtones (which it damn well better, don’t even the most basic of phones do that these days?), they’re all going to be Mega Man ringtones, starting with those from 9. The only problem would be which robot masters should be assigned to whom on my buddy list? Because I’ve played 1 and 2 and 3 (the NES version of 3, not the super shitty PC version<), those would also be in use… Thirty robot master themes is an awful lot to have available. It sucks to be whoever gets assigned Hard Man. Or Galaxy Man, he’s a queer.

Phil and I got to the third stage of Wily’s castle last night, but if you save the game and turn it off you start right back at the first stage of the castle, so we had to leave it on over night. I got bored part way through the night and beat the third stage and got through the fourth, but kept dying on the final boss.. :neutral: I think it was the Oreos and half-gallon of milk that helped me get that far :razz:
I don’t know what I’m going to do with myself this break (conscience says: “Get your chem lab done early, get caught up in data networks, look at your systems lab,” but who listens to that anyway?). I played around a bit with python last night. Fairly simple stuff so far, just figuring out how loops and functions work in this crazy language. Up next is GUI stuff. The mpd side of things is damn easy, all the mpd commands are extremely straight forward (and are the exact same ones I’ve already played around with in perl, oddly), so once I get the GUI stuff down it should be pretty easy to implement a basic music controller.
..I think I’m going to fall asleep soon… I slept from about four after my systems exam to roughly ten or so yesterday… My sleep schedule is complete poop right now. It’s terrible.
I ordered this the other day. It’s fine! The total cost was under $5!! Now I have something to replace the one AMC pin I lost on the way down to the castle last Spring Break. Plus it’s Reboot, so it’s amazing.
In other news.. I had a dream last night about the boss to the second stage of Wily’s Castle in Mega Man 9. Um.. should I kill myself?
The rage I held towards Mega Man 9 just a few days ago has turned into determination to kick its ass. Phil and I have been trading off trying to beat the stages of the game. So far we’re through with all the robot masters and into Wily’s castle, but that’s proven itself to be a bitch so far.
After some frustration with Mega Man I decided I should visit my SNES rom collection. I’ve got an SNES emulator on my Wii (as well as GB/(A|C) and NES emulators) and I realized that I have The Lost Vikings for SNES! So I stuck in the password for the last level and decided to give it a go. Well, I’ve gotten further on that level than I.. ever have. I grew up playing this game in DOS back when I was but a wee kid, and I’ve FINALLY gotten past the first part of the last level. It’s a good feeling :) I wanna replay the whole game now.
